Young Priestess Fresco Coaster — Ritual Grace and Renewal

This vibrant figure, known as the Young Priestess, is depicted in ceremonial garb and often interpreted as participating in saffron harvesting and sacred rites central to Akrotiri culture. With a nearly shaven blue head crowned by a snake-like band, red-painted lips and ears, and adorned with elaborate earrings, bracelets, and a necklace, she symbolizes the transition from youth to womanhood and the importance of women in religious life.

The Bronze Age city of Akrotiri on Santorini, Greece, flourished over 3,600 years ago and was preserved under volcanic ash. Excavations led by Professor Spyridon Marinatos in the late 1960s uncovered brilliantly preserved wall-paintings that remain one of the most important discoveries in Aegean art.

The Young Priestess fresco reflects the significance of ritual practices and the role of women in shaping the spiritual and social life of Bronze Age Akrotiri, connecting art, culture, and devotion.

Printed using dye-sublimation onto durable MDF, the coaster delivers vivid color reproduction with a smooth, glossy finish. Heat-resistant and easy to clean, it is designed for daily use while maintaining its fine-art quality. Beyond serving as a drink accessory, this piece also doubles as miniature framed art, making it a versatile addition to your home décor.

Perfect for:
• Gifts for admirers of ancient culture and ritual symbolism
• Entertaining with meaningful cultural table accents
• Displaying as framed collectible artwork

Part of the Greek Art Collection, this piece celebrates the timeless beauty of Akrotiri frescoes reimagined for modern living.
