Adorant Fresco Coaster — Ritual Offering Grace

This elegant young woman, known as the Adorant, is shown with long hair tied by a red bow and holding a necklace in offering. Her richly embroidered garments, jewelry, and graceful pose reflect the artistry and ceremonial life of Bronze Age Akrotiri.

The Bronze Age city of Akrotiri on Santorini, Greece, flourished over 3,600 years ago and was preserved under volcanic ash. Excavations led by Professor Spyridon Marinatos in the late 1960s uncovered brilliantly preserved wall-paintings that remain one of the most important discoveries in Aegean art.

Among these masterpieces is the figure known as the Adorant, depicted with her hair tied in a red bow, holding a necklace in ritual offering. She wears a nearly transparent bodice embroidered with crocus stamens and is adorned with exquisite jewelry of precious metals and gems. This fresco highlights the elegance, social importance, and ceremonial role of women in Akrotiri’s vibrant society.

Printed using dye-sublimation onto durable MDF, the coaster delivers vivid color reproduction with a smooth, glossy finish. Heat-resistant and easy to clean, it is designed for daily use while maintaining its fine-art quality. Beyond serving as a drink accessory, this piece also doubles as miniature framed art, making it a versatile addition to your home décor.

Perfect for:
